A study showed that women armpit’s smell affect the fertility. The most fertile of the menstrual cycle normally secretes female underarm odor stronger and more intense. The smell could actually be a signal to determine the woman’s fertile period, as quoted by dailymail.co.uk.
A findings have been published in the journal Ethanology. The research was carried out on 12 women who did not use hormonal contraception. All the women were asked to provide samples of armpit odor by wearing armpit pads for 24 hours. Certainly, they were not allowed to use any deodorant or perfume at all.
Sweat pads were collected repeatedly in different phases of the menstrual cycle. Then 42 men were asked to sniff the odor samples to assess the attractiveness and intensity. Dr. Jan Havlicek from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, led the study and said, “Axillary odor from women in the follicular phase rated as the most exciting and intense. On the other hand, the highest and lowest attractiveness was found during the period.”
The results of this study indicate that women’s body odor can be used by men as a guide to identify the fertile partner.
This was not the first study about revealing shocking information about how human behavior is affected by the smell. Previous research has shown that people are more attracted to others with similar immune systems.
Ideally, men and women with contrasting immunity genes must come together so that they can have a good offspring. The scientists found that people will be attracted to each other, if they have a scent similar body.
It is greatly influenced by a person’s immune system genes. It turns out that armpit odor can be a sign, whether the woman is fertile or not. I hope this information is helpful to married men. So, they can determine when the best time to have quality sex.
